This week we are talking about habits. A habit is a routine of behaviour that is repeated regularly and tends to occur subconsciously. Previous studies have shown that around 40% of our daily behaviour is performed out of habit. New behaviours can become automatic through habit formation.
You might have thought before about changing your behaviour, wanting to take up something new, run more, read more, and be more present. But so often we don’t stick to these new goals we set ourselves. Today’s spotlight covers a simple strategy for how to build new habits that will actually stick.
