New support for social enterprise leaders in Lancashire

Thanks to support from players of the People's Postcode Lottery, we're partnering with Selnet to launch a unique leadership programme across the North West of England in 2019.

The ‘Building for Sustainability’ leadership programme will run from March 2019 - November 2019, enhancing the social enterprise sector’s leadership skills across Lancashire and the North West.The programme will bring together senior social enterprise leaders, enabling them to share ideas and tools to enhance their organisations’ future sustainability and impact. 

As part of the programme, learners will have:

  • 10 learning days: 5 x 2-day modules covering; Enterprising Future, Building the Future, Influencing for the Future, Connecting for the Future, Showing Impact for the Future
  • 4 x one-to-one coaching sessions with an accredited coach or social entrepreneur mentor
  • Opportunity to gain an ILM qualification - accredited at ILM Level 5 and equivalent to SCQF 9 / NQF 6.

Lancashire’s Social Enterprise Network ‘Selnet’ has brought over £12M of funding and contract opportunities for social enterprises across the county over the past 10 years. As a result, at the social enterprise sector’s annual awards event in London, Selnet CEO Liz Tapner was recognised as being the UK’s Most Influential Woman in Social Enterprise.

Of the programme, Selnet's Chief Executive, Liz Tapner, said:
