Social Enterprise Schools England is back!

Social Enterprise Schools in England is back and coming to a school near you soon...

The programme got underway with an engaging and productive education facilitator training session, which saw the first brilliant cohort of facilitators participate in interactive activities. They will go on to deliver the programme to schools across England from September.

Of the session, Matt Nicol, Social Enterprise Schools Lead in England, said:

Speechmarks Plum Education Facilitators are instrumental to the Social Enterprise Schools Programme. They light the initial spark in young people, helping them identify a social issue they care about and inspiring them to do something about it. We are really excited to have seven experienced social entrepreneurs joining us as facilitators for the next year and can’t wait to see the impact they have in schools in England."

A pupil workshop also took place in June, which saw Year 6's from St.Richard's Primary School in London identify the social issues they care about and want to tackle with their social enterprise ideas. Topics included: Mental Health awareness, deforestation, air pollution and supporting ex-armed forces members.

A mini Dragons' Den event will take place for them in July, where they will get the opportunity to showcase their ideas to a board, with sponsorship from SAP.
