Mark Richardson | I describe myself as a social entrepreneur for hire; setting up, supporting and measuring the impact of social enterprises in Wales and around the world. I co-founded my first social enterprise when I left university aged 21, providing employment for homeless people in the UK. The success of the venture led to my advising the UK government on social enterprise and homelessness.
Since then I’ve supported the development of over a hundred social enterprises across Wales, the UK and internationally. As Director of Social Enterprise at Bangor University, I launched and managed a Masters in Social Enterprise. I’ve led research into social enterprise across five continents and love the opportunity to learn how social entrepreneurs are changing the world in countries from Wales to Brazil to Sudan. I particularly enjoy using Social Return on Investment (SROI) to demonstrate the value of what they are doing.
Mark Richardson | Rwy'n disgrifio fy hun fel entrepreneur cymdeithasol ar log; yn sefydlu, cefnogi ac yn mesur effaith mentrau cymdeithasol yng Nghymru a ledled y byd. Bu i mi gyd-sefydlu fy menter gymdeithasol gyntaf ar ol i mi adael y brifysgol yn 21 oed, gan ddarparu gwaith i bobl ddigartref yn y DU. Arweiniodd llwyddiant y fenter hon at gynghori Llywodraeth y DU ar faterion yn ymwneud a mentrau cymdeithasol a digartrefedd. Ers hynny rwyf wedi cefnogi datblygiad dros gant o fentrau cymdeithasol ar draws Cymru, gweddill y DU ac ymhellach.
Fel Cyfarwyddwr Menter Gymdeithasol Prifysgol Bangor, lansiais a rheolais radd Meistr mewn Menter Gymdeithasol. Rwyf wedi arwain ymchwil i fenter gymdeithasol ar draws pum cyfandir ac rwyf wrth fy modd â'r cyfle i ddysgu sut mae entrepreneuriaid cymdeithasol yn newid y byd mewn gwledydd o Gymru i Brasil i Sudan. Rwy'n mwynhau defnyddio Enillion Cymdeithasol ar Fuddsoddiad (SROI) yn arbennig i ddangos gwerth yr hyn maen nhw'n ei wneud.
