Many non-profits in in Lesotho and around the world are looking for ways to generate income in order to decrease their reliance on donor funding and become more financially sustainable.

Through adopting social enterprise models, non-profit organisations can be empowered to create social impact in the long term. Through a unique approach of peer-led learning and development, this programme will support you in your journey of increasing your organisation’s financial sustainability.

 

During this programme you will:

  • Identify income streams that will support the long-term sustainability of your organisation
  • Develop a robust business model and actionable business plan
  • Explore how to market your business to potential customers
  • Calculate an accurate pricing model and cash flow forecast so you can manage finances well
  • Learn collaboratively with others at a similar stage of development
  • Create an actionable business plan to support your social enterprise idea

Eligibility 

This programme has space for 20 participants - up to 2 participants per organisation. You will only be invited if you qualify to attend.

Learners must have attended previous programmes, attended mentorship sessions and submitted their Sustainability Plans on time in order to be considered.

All NPOs are required to attend all 7 days of this programme. The same learners need to attend all sessions.

 

Cost

With the generous support of the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) we are able to offer this unique programme to participants at a 100% subsidy.

Untitled design 28In 2022 I attended facilitation for transformation. I was selected as the youngest participant with people who had so much experience in facilitation. Now am using the experience I’ve gained to impact Wildfire youth in my community church every Friday night. In 2023 I will study fashion design at Fedisa which was always my dream to study fashion, this was through Social Enterprise Academy because I received certificates that allowed me to get accepted with the short training I’ve attended.Untitled design 29 - Sikelela Kwatsha
