Journey to Social Enterprise

This programme has been designed for leaders of Non-Profit Organisations who are at the stage of exploring the feasibility of income-generation ideas in order to enable them to transition towards social enterprise.

Journey to Social Enterprise will provide you with business start-up knowledge, tools and skills in order that you can create, develop and sustain your social enterprise. It will cover key areas of business development, which you can use to develop a Business Plan for your social enterprise.

The programme will give you a framework for structuring new activity in your enterprise. It provides support at all stages of your business planning and leads to the completion of the Business Plan for your enterprise. It will challenge you to test the feasibility of your ideas against a realistic assessment of the market and give you practice and feedback on presenting your business proposition. 

 

On this programme you will:

  • Define the values and purpose of a social enterprise to better understand where it sits in relation to the corporate and voluntary sector.
  • Articulate the benefits to you and your beneficiaries of transitioning towards social enterprise
  • Explore how to actively manage both a social and economic mission
  • Assess the feasibility of your income generation ideas with respect to market opportunities
  • Apply a range of business tools and skills to establish sustainable income streams for your social purpose
  • Create a dynamic and workable business plan to support the development and growth of your social enterprise idea
