{"id":528,"date":"2023-08-29T10:47:58","date_gmt":"2023-08-29T10:47:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/socialenterpri.wpenginepowered.com\/za\/?page_id=528"},"modified":"2023-08-29T14:28:57","modified_gmt":"2023-08-29T14:28:57","slug":"older-past-programmes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/socialenterprise.academy\/za\/impact-stories\/older-past-programmes\/","title":{"rendered":"Older past programmes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Street Football World |\u00a0<\/strong>Journey to Social Enterprise<\/h2>\n<p class=\"is-introduction\"><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In November 2017, the Social Enterprise Academy facilitated the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/old.socialenterprise.academy\/za\/whats-on\/journey-to-social-enterprise-127\">Journey to Social Enterprise<\/a>\u00a0programme in Johannesburg in partnership with Street Football World.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fifa.com\/sustainability\/football-for-hope.html\">Fifa: Football for Hope Adidas Exchange Programme<\/a>, this 3-day capacity-building programme brought together learners from across Africa, who represent\u00a0<strong>NGOs using football as a tool for development in their communities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having been introduced to the social enterprise model in 2016, learners had the chance to come together\u00a0with peers from similar organisations and share the opportunities and challenges that come with transitioning from a traditional NGO model to a social enterprise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read more about the programme in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.streetfootballworld.org\/F4GMagazineIssue5\/\">Street Football World&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0Football4Good magazine (February 2018).<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Programme Impact<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;The programme has helped me as an individual, to learn how to convince the management on\u00a0<strong>how to start a social enterprise, as I feel that is what my organisation needs.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am looking forward to presenting my knowledge to my organisation on how we can\u00a0<strong>be more self-sustainable rather than being donor dependent.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will greatly shift the way we operate, from the traditional NPO-model to a social enterprise model, it will help us attain some financial autonomy and also\u00a0<strong>help us generate income, expand our reach and more beneficiaries.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/old.socialenterprise.academy\/za\/images\/Blog_Images\/south-africa-prgramme-infographc.png\" alt=\"south africa prgramme infographc\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Remgro: Strengthen our Society (SOS) | Journey to Social Enterprise Programme<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"is-introduction\"><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Strengthen our Society (SOS) is part of Remgro&#8217;s Corporate Social Investment portfolio. It supports a number of NPOs to enhance\u00a0their\u00a0structural capacity\u00a0and realise their full potential.<\/p>\n<p><em>Journey to Social Enterprise<\/em>\u00a0was commisioned to enable NPOs to move beyond traditional funding and\u00a0strengthen their future viability through alternative revenue streams.<\/p>\n<p>Remgro are keen to see the selected SOS organisations &#8220;reach the next level&#8221;. By increasing income and financial sustainability, the aim is to enable NPOs to achieve higher levels of social impact.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>The Programme<\/h4>\n<p>The 6-day programme was divided into 3 modules and\u00a0also included\u00a0mentoring and business support services from a range of partners:<\/p>\n<table align=\"center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td align=\"left\">\u00a0<strong>1.
