Social Enterprise Schools Phase 2

Phase 2 started in March 2022, with 75 grade 9 students from AIS. This time, we have organised a partnership with the Misr El Kheir Foundation – a community school for underprivileged students.
In the recent field trip, the 9th graders went to Fayoum to meet these students and get to know them. It allowed the AIS students to better understand the most pressing social issues in Egypt:

From Creative Potential to Sustainable Societal Impact

The “From Creative Potential to Sustainable Societal Impact” was delivered in the form of a 5-day boot camp in partnership with the British Council, giving the students the opportunity to develop their own sustainable business models.

It was a peer-led, learner-centred transformational journey which revolved around skills-sharing and development. Students have had the chance to learn various marketing, and sales skills, as well as developing long-term financial plans to ensure the sustainability of their creative projects, which includes projects rooted in culture and heritage, the arts and performance, and information technology.

The programme ended with a pitching day of their business models to a professional board.

This is the first time I feel like I can do something important to help myself and those around me. This programme gave me the tools I need to do something like this, I have gained a lot more confidence.
