Eissa recently participated in the New Scots leadership programme, delivered in partnership with Scottish Refugee Council. The programme allows learners to develop strategic leadership skills, and access tools to create impact and build a strong community with other refugees living in Scotland.

Eissa is studying for his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Aberdeen. He co-founded Adopt IN, a start-up social enterprise working on solutions to the climate crisis and supporting the community to mitigate problems caused by the crisis. His work also supports young people in engaging with climate activism.

“This programme is like a rocket for me to fly and find myself as a leader. I have a lot of skills and this programme showed me that I can use them, and helped me to manage them. I have passion, I am capable and I can make family and friends proud of me.”
